Yes, there is camp each day. On rainy days there will be land instruction. Between rain showers campers may sail off the docks of the sailing club. It rarely rains non-stop the entire day during the summer.
9:15-11:00 - Campers and instructors have classroom instruction then rig the sailboats
11:00-2:30 - On the water sailing instruction, lunch and swimming at the sandbar and sailing fun
2:30-3:45 - Classroom discussion and boat cleanup
Camper can be dropped off no earlier that 8:45 and must be picked up by 4:00. After 4:15 there will be a late fee.
We do not sell lunch at the sailing club. Make sure you pack a nutritional lunch for your child each day. Make sure to back an ice pack in the lunch since the lunches will be loaded on the coaches boats in the morning.
Please make sure you child brings the following to camp:
- Sunscreen - apply the sunscreen before camp when the skin is cool. Right before camp have your child apply another layer. Pack the sunscreen in your child's lunch and tell them to apply more at lunch. Our coaches will remind the kids to apply sunscreen at lunch.
- Lots of water - at least 2 water bottles each day.
- Lunch
- Hat and sun glasses - the hat with a tie on string is critical
- Life jacket - Type 3 life jacket, it should be comfortable and fit properly.
- Some like to bring a change of clothes, and a towel
- Water shoes or sandals
- Suggested, but not mandatory, to get SPF or sunscreen clothing at local boating store
Our ratio is no greater than 7 sailors to 1 coach. They all love to sail and enjoy welcoming others to the sport.
We have information sessions at the sailing club. Our next question answer session for camp will be scheduled soon. This is a great opportunity to see our facilities, meet the camp director, and have all your camp questions answered. You may also register at that time. Our camp fills quickly and we will not exceed our instructor to camper ration.
You may register for additional sessions subject to availability. We need to maintain a 7 to 1 ratio and can not exceed our instructor to camper ratio. We provide quality sailing instruction and this requires a low ratio.
