CGSC Shore-Side
Volunteers Needed
CGSC will be hosting another busy regatta season over the coming winter months. Volunteers are needed to staff the shore-side committee, before, during and after racing ashore. (During much less so than Before and After.)
Activities include regatta registration, food, beverage and social aspects of the regatta, parking arrangements, and similar activities.

2011/2012 Season
In August 2011, the Audi Melges 20 fleet were up in Newport, RI, for their Nationals competition, but Hurricane Irene had something to say about that. They had to cancel the regatta and called us to reschedule it for November 11-13 here in Miami. We welcome the large fleet for yet another event the CGSC is hosting for them.
Coconut Grove Sailing Club and Melges Performance Sailboats are both happy to announce that the 2011-2012 Audi Melges 20 Miami Winter Series will be returning to CGSC. The Series consists of three regattas – December, February and March for this new and growing international Class.
The regatta dates- are Event #1 - Gold Cup - December 10-12, Event #2 - February 10 - 12, and Event #3 - Bacardi Miami Sailing Week -March 8-10. During the regattas when not racing, the fleet will live in the water at CGSC, either rafted off our docks, or on our moorings. The boats will launch, haul and store between regattas at the Shake-a-Leg facility just up Bayshore Drive.

To make this year’s Series a success, we need many volunteers from among our Race Committee personnel and our Club membership. This includes both on-the-water and shore support roles such as Registration, Duty Desk, competitor lunches, parking assistance and similar. Please look at the dates and notify those listed below when you can assist and support your Club.

Miami Sailing Week is held Thurs. - Sat. March 8 - 10, 2012. This is the 3rd in series for the Audi Melges 20 winter series and includes the Melges 24, Viper 640 and J 80. Come join the fun!
